Heather Parry is the president of Live Nation Productions. She has been involved in some high-profile movies in this role such as “A Star is Born“. Her focus is on producing movies, including documentaries, that feature well-known musicians.
In regards to “A Star is Born”, Heather Parry says that she already knew Bradley Cooper. Once she founded out he wanted to direct this remake, she got in touch with his agent on the phone. She told him that Live Nation Productions had the assets needed to make this movie a success such as venues and festivals. She pitched Bill Gerber at a dinner party at his house about this movie and her passion led to her becoming involved.
Heather Parry says that she doesn’t let many opportunities pass her by. The film and television division she leads at Live Nation Productions was created by her in December 2015. In the past three years the documentaries she has produced include “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop: A Bad Boy Story” about Sean “Diddy” Combs, “Believer” about Dan Reynold’s of Imagine Dragon and his issues with the Mormon Church, and “Five Foot Two” which is about Lady Gaga.
Live Nation Productions has a number of films in the pipeline. Heather Parry said that she is currently working with Noah Cyrus (Miley’s sister), Dave Grohl’s mother who wrote “From Cradle to Grave” which is being developed into a TV series, and trans artist Kim Petras.
She spent several years working at MTV before going to Live Nation Productions. She says that she started out at MTV News when she was 22 years old. She eventually became the West Coast Bureau Chief where she worked on “The Week in Rock” among other TV projects. She has been called hungry and brilliant by those who have worked with her.
